1. Snap, snap, split ends!

Many people have the misconception that hair only grows if you don't cut it. What sounds sensible in theory is simply wrong in practice. Because: Anyone who rigorously avoids going to the hairdresser gives free rein to the growth of split ends. It is important to know at this point: Cutting split ends is not the same as cutting hair. On the contrary! Special split-end cutting techniques allow only the broken ends to be removed, stimulating growth and ensuring hair not only looks long but healthy too.

If you still shy away from hairdressers, you can of course lend a hand yourself and easily remove brittle ends yourself with the split ends or with the split ender.

2. Shampoo belongs at the roots of the hair, not at the ends!

The application of care products is the be-all and end-all of hair care. But while we often only pay attention to which products we use, it is just as important how and especially how often we use them. For example, shampooing slowly but surely dries out the hair with each wash – even if we try to defy the process with treatments and masks. So two tips for everyone who wants to finally put an end to split ends: Only apply the shampoo to the roots of the hair, but never to the tips. And, if possible: Wash at most twice a week. A small change with a big effect, we promise!

3. Hot, hotter, split ends: Avoid styling with heat

No matter how big your love for straightening irons, curling irons, or hair dryers may be: If you want to get rid of brittle tips in the long term, you are advised to avoid any heat influences. Because hardly anything accelerates the growth of split ends as rapidly as our favorite styling products. If you still can't keep your hands off straightening irons and the like, you should get good heat protection as soon as possible and make sure that all products are only used at the lowest heat level!

4. Beautiful hair overnight: Silk pillows against split ends

No other anti-split method requires so little effort and at the same time promises such great success: silk pillows are a classic beauty hit for skin and hair! And rightly so, because while cotton and linen literally rub the hair down with their coarse structure, silk, thanks to its smooth surface, can even prevent split ends. In particular, all restless sleepers among you are advised: Invest in a silk pillow! Because the more you move at night, the more friction occurs, which leads to more split ends in the long term.

5. Split-free through the night – thanks to this chic floppy hairstyle

Speaking of! If you want to optimize your beauty sleep for the benefit of your hair, you should style yourself gentle sleeping hairstyles as soon as possible before going to bed. Probably the most popular and proven is the loose-fitting braided plait, which can of course also be changed into two plaits if you have shorter hair. By the way, you not only avoid friction and knots but also get a few chic beach waves - and without any heat!
