Easy and quick to do: The ponytail is and will always be the best summer hairstyle and always looks good. You can find out here how we prefer to wear it in summer 2022.
In vs. out: These 3 ponytail hairstyles are trending in the summer of 2022
If there is one hairstyle that simply suits every situation and occasion, it is the ponytail. You can wear it strictly and elegant or rather messy and casual. But among the umpteen ponytail variants, there are some that are particularly popular in the summer of 2022 and others that we won’t wear as often for the time being.
Whether as a high ponytail at the back of the head or as a low braid at the nape of the neck, the braided ponytail is the biggest trend in summer 2022. The hairstyle is as versatile as it is creative and you can conjure up a wide variety of hairstyles depending on the hair length and structure. For example, if you have very full hair, you can braid not just one but several braids out of the ponytail. If you have shorter or extremely layered hair, you can braid just a mini braid into the ponytail as a highlight. It's worth trying! Luckily the summer is still long and there is enough time to create many braided ponytail hairstyles.
At the beginning of the year, baby braids, i.e. braided mini braids that frame the face, were particularly popular. They will continue to be, however, the on-trend top adopts a hairstyle that was already a hit in the '90s. It is Tendril Hair. Tendril means tendrils in German, so the face is framed by rather wide strands of hair that hang down like tendrils. In the summer of 2022, the tendrils will be combined with a ponytail. It is important here that the ponytail is tied as sleekly and strictly as possible so that the loose strands of hair come into their own. So for the finish, definitely use a hairspray or hair gel to eliminate flyaways.
Summertime is vacation time for many of us - and the ponytail is a welcome companion in the heat and bathing activities. So why not just declare the holiday ponytail a trend? The ponytail is characterized by the fact that it lives off the natural hair structure. So stay away from straighteners and curling irons. It's too hot for hair styling with tools anyway. After showering let hair air dry and work in some Sea Salt Spray or another texturizing product for that beachy holiday look. Once the hair is dry, simply pull it back into a ponytail as it is. If you like, you can now fine-tune it and use hairspray to remove some frizz or conjure up a few waves with a straightening iron. But not too much please, because the Holiday Ponytail thrives on the casual “just got back from the beach” vibe.
