These are the eyeliner trends for 2022 - and we'll show you how to apply them

Red lips, a French manicure, or Hollywood curls: there are a few beauty looks that never go out of style. This also includes black eyeliner, which has been giving make-up that certain something for decades. What changes in the way do we wear it? Every year there are a few variants from the multitude of possibilities that are particularly trendy - usually first seen on a red carpet with celebrities, on social media, or as a street style look. Here we show you our most beautiful eyeliner looks for 2022!

So that you can try the eyeliner trends yourself, hair & make-up artist Christian Schild did the make-up for us on actress Krista Tcherneva, who is currently the campaign model for KVD Beauty, and explained them step by step.

Kitten eyeliner

The expressive kitten eyeliner.

If you are looking for a special look for an evening event, you should definitely try the kitten eyeliner. Although the lines are very fine here, an extravagant appearance is still guaranteed. For this style, a narrow eyeliner is applied from the inside of the eye to the outer edge of the lash line. Next comes the liner in the crease of the lid - this step takes some practice. It is best to work your way from the inner part of the eye to the middle of the crease, then from the middle of the lid to the outer corner of the eye. Now just connect the end of the bottom line to the top line and the cat-style look is complete.

XXL liner

Graphically: the XXL liner

Wearing eyeliner on droopy eyelids can be tricky sometimes, but this look works great. The wide line can conceal droopy eyelids well, provides an extra portion of drama, and can be made up with both a normal eyeliner and an eyeliner pomade. A large eyeliner brush is used to work from the outside in and, with the eye open, mark a point where the liner should start. Then, from this point, pull the eyeliner over the movable eyelid to the inner corner.

Double Winged Eyeliner

The Double Winged Eyeliner is subtle but artistic.

The double-winged liner visually opens the eye and thus ensures an expressive look. A flexible eyeliner with an ultra-fine tip such as the "Tattoo Liner" from KVD is particularly suitable for creating a subtle but special look, in order to achieve the most precise possible result. First, as in a classic eyeliner look, a line is drawn along the upper lash line from the inside outwards, then the tip of the eyeliner is applied a second time, this time at the outer corner of the eye. From there, draw a fine line from the outside to the inside to create the double wing. To determine the shape of the line as precisely as possible, it is best to keep your eyes open and look straight ahead.

Punk liner

Something wicked: the punk liner.

The punk liner is a good choice if you have big eyes, as it narrows them down and gives you a wicked femme fatale touch. Two eyeliners are required for this, one pencil liner with a gel texture, which is applied to the upper waterline and can be smudged for a punk look, and one liquid eyeliner with a narrow tip. First, pull this from the inside to the middle of the eye for an eyelid line and then place it on the outer part of the eye and connect it towards the middle.

Reverse eyeliner

Focus on the lower lash line: the reverse eyeliner.

The reverse liner is ideal for anyone who has little practice with eyeliner or has difficulty drawing a precise line. Because for this look, an eyeliner pencil is applied generously to the lower lash line and does not have to be perfect, as the line is then blended with a narrow blender brush. This creates a soft transition, and with the same brush, the color is drawn upwards, creating the typical wing. This technique is particularly suitable for sloping eyes, which are thereby optically lifted.

Fox liner

The Fox Liner provides pure drama.

The Fox Liner is definitely the most extravagant and expressive variant that we are wearing this year. It gives an intense look with a lot of expressions and makes every look an eye-catcher. Only two products are required for the dramatic look: a pencil liner and a narrow brush. First, the liner is applied to the waterline above and below, then to the lower lash line. Then use the brush to slightly blend out the liner on the lower eyelid. The most important part of the Fox Liner is created when you then apply the Pencil Liner with gel texture to the entire eyelid and work out the perfect shape with a brush. The contour of the eyeliner may remain hard here and, if necessary, be reworked and corrected with a cotton swab.

The right products

Christian Schild used eyeliner from KVD Beauty to create the looks. For softer lines, use a gel-textured pen, the Tattoo Pencil Liner, and for precise lines and edges, use the Liquid Tattoo Eyeliner.
